"Live-in"
but not quite live ... residents.
It has been said that a picture is worth a
thousand words. To demonstrate that picture in a real life setting could
be considered to be much more. We hope that is the case. It is with
good intentions that we hope we can demonstrate for "one moment" what it might
have been like to live in the time periods represented by our Historical Depot -
1882, General Store - 1915 and Caboose - 1950. When appropriate, members
of the society can and will dress in costume for special occasions and it's
entirely possible that there just might be some re-enactments done by actors for
Old Settler's Day or Open house.
But for those browsing the park on any given day
and looking in the windows will see scenes re-enacted with the use of
mannequins.

downtown Forsyth, Georgia for many, many years. Mr. David Bloom's
father opened the original store in the early 1900s and he ran the store
until his death last year (2001). |
Costume - Donated
Dress & apron was worn by Linda's great grandmother, Shoes also
donated. |
Purchased - E-bay. Used. Originally used in a store that was in
operation in Georgia in 1911. Our store also opened in 1911.
Seller purchased from that store after it went out of business.
