Clive Historical Society's Newest "Live-in"
but not quite live ... residents.

It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words.  To demonstrate that picture in a real life setting could be considered to be much more.  We hope that is the case.  It is with good intentions that we hope we can demonstrate for "one moment" what it might have been like to live in the time periods represented by our Historical Depot - 1882, General Store - 1915 and Caboose - 1950.  When appropriate, members of the society can and will dress in costume for special occasions and it's entirely possible that there just might be some re-enactments done by actors for Old Settler's Day or Open house.

But for those browsing the park on any given day and looking in the windows will see scenes re-enacted with the use of mannequins.

This is an ongoing project.  If you know of a mannequin that might be available or can help with acquiring the clothing for all of the above, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

All will be dressed for the appropriate seasons. Therefore they need at least two costume changes.  The twin babies in the depot are in the modern clothing that they came with until proper costuming can be found.  It was felt it was better to display them "as is" than keep them out of the picture.
