The Clive Historical Society is not about having a club for meetings and social activities for it's members to participate in.  It is about people who want to make a difference for their community by preserving historical landmarks, sharing history with students and adults, hosting Open House Events, welcoming bus tours.  We are also working with the city to create a park that allows us to remember our roots by using hands on activities in the historical Clive Depot, Swanson General Store and railroad caboose.   YOU can be a part of this effort too.   We invite you to join us.  You need not be a member to help.   We welcome volunteers too.

2005 Projects

- A new park bench -
has been added under the buck-eye tree for the comfort of visitors.  Especially located for parents to watch small children who make use of the grounds.

More landscaping was done to level the ground where a former flower garden had been.  Grass now grows in that spot to open up the play area.

- Maintenance -
New paint for the structures and the sign in front of the store has a new frame.  Not nearly as much fun as planting the new gardens, but necessary.
This was done in anticipation of the Clive Five-O events that will be taking place in Swanson Memorial Park during the next year.  Neat and tidy.  Ready for a party.

Two new pictures from post cards.

Spring of 2004 Activities create a new look for the park.

New plants and landscaping for the Swanson Park and an addition that speaks of the times when "at the end of the path" had something of a different meaning.

New plants on the path, and better access to both the caboose and the Swanson General Store.
